Jane and Jason Wedding
Scott Robert photographyJane and Jason in San FranciscoAnother Fab wedding in the CityJane and Jason are the type of people everyone wants to hang around. It was such a pleasure to be a part of this wedding. They planned pretty much the perfect wedding. I had so many great photos it was hard for me to narrow down the set. I'm so blessed to call them my friends too! I think everyone is going to enjoy this whopping 170 image slideshow. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Thanks Jane and Jason for supporting me in so many ways. Here is also their fabulous engagement session.I know I've been on vacation and haven't been regular with my blog lately. I have so many things to blog about but just don't have the time right now. I feel like I'm trying to get through a 1,000 page novel with no end in sight! My goal is to try to crank out 3 blog entries this week!! Wish me luck!!!Beverly Hills StudioI just realized I didn't tell everyone about my new Beverly Hills studio- It is actually Joe Buissink's studio but he is sharing the space with me. At the studio I will be hosting a once a month, one day post processing class which will cover how to use my Photoshop actions and my Lightroom presets. The class will be limited to only 5 students a session or 60 students a year. I will be starting sign ups around Sept/Oct so sign up early. All those who sign up for my 2008 France workshop and any workshop in 2009 will get a free pass to one of my post processing classes.Lots more to share so stay tuned!!I currently use the below equipment, click for more info...

Susan and John in San Diego
Scott Robert photographySusan and John in San DiegoSusan and JohnBelieve it or not, this was my first session in San Diego. Although I live in Southern California, I get hired most of the time outside of Southern California. This happens to be the case with our lovely couple Susan and John, I can't wait to photograph their wedding in Florida this August! However, they decided to have their E session in California and take a little vacation at the same time. San Diego is such a great town.As you can see, Susan and John had all the looks...from glamorous to fun loving. It is great to work with people who like to have fun and don't mind showing all sides of their personality. I think you're going to like this slideshow. As you can tell, I like to continually evolve and this slideshow has many fine art images as well as the traditional Scott Robert images, not to mention the larger format with bigger images.I'm curious to know what you think!!This is a crazy month ahead to get ready for some great imagery to be posted on my blog. Tomorrow I head off to Seattle and Vancouver with my family for a week and then to:Victoria, Canada - Image Explorations workshopSan Jose, CA - WeddingSeoul, Korea - WeddingLondon, UK - Next Level workshopI do not have one free weekend from now till end of Sept. I'm sorry I can't keep up with everyone on Xanga and Facebook but I read every comment and am so thankful for the opportunity to share with you my imagery and life.Another exciting development is that Stacey and I are putting a new air conditioning unit in our house!! After 20 years, we need it!! I'm expecting our electricity bill to be cut in half at least!!!. Our new unit is 90% more efficient!!!! 19 seers rating- not messing around this time around!! Stay cool everyone and I love hearing from you!!I currently use the below equipment, click for more info...

Caribbbean- our final days
Scott Robert photographyCaribbean Day 3 & 4Thanks to all who attended:Agnes- SingaporeDean- North CarolinaEsther- AtlantaBandele- UKChryssy- UKChristina- San FranciscoTauran- Los AngelesChristiana & Roger- Orange CountyDonna- VirginiaLucy- BrazilLiz- San FranciscoCaribbean Cruise Workshop, Key West, Day 3-4To tell the truth, day three started out disastrous! But sometimes we need to make lemonade out of lemons and our disappointment turned into a blessing. Our initial idea turned out to be a complete flop but in the end we took over this private resort with no one around. We had absolutely the best time in one of the most beautiful places to take photos, Cozumel, Mexico. I said to myself, wow today was just one of those magical days, something totally unexpected and fabulous. We ended the cruise with a day on sea and it was more of a classroom day with no scheduled shooting. After dinner Christiana and Roger wanted a sunset photo so it turned out the entire class followed me and we had this mini photo session that was completely wild. We started taking pictures of the models but we realized this was the last time we would get pictures of everyone together so we started taking pictures of each other too. The strong wind in our faces, off camera flashes firing every second and fun a laughter completely engulfed us. In fact there are some pretty ridiculous photos of me out there and I hope they never surface!!!We all went to see Christiana and Roger dominate the talent show that night and we all went out dancing the night away and finishing off the late night (early morning) eating another meal together. I felt like we never wanted our time to end and we tried to savor every minute together. However, exhaustion and incoherent talk took over and we found ourselves finally calling it a night and sadly ending the last night of our cruise. Thanks everyone for the memories and the million and one good times that I will take with me for many years to come!!Lucy brought her entire family to the workshop and this is her cute daughter sticking her tongue at me!!!Can't describe how great we are feeling at this moment, spending a glorious day together. Can't thank our models enough, I give them a standing ovation!!!Imagine 20 of us all taking pictures in this one small area, all trying to get that last shot in before sunset!Liz doesn't like this shot because she thinks she looks too good! But think of how proud you will be when your kids look at this 20 years from now Liz!! I made the photo look even better, sorry.

Notes from a recent article sent to me **click here**The number of American families adopting children from China is rocketing, according to figures from the US department of state. In 2005, immigration authorities issued 7,906 visas to Chinese orphans beginning new lives with families in the US, up from 4,681 in 2001. Most are girls, unwanted in a society in which men are traditionally the breadwinners. More than 30 million babies are born in China each year and hundreds of thousands are made available for adoption. The cost varies, but most people adopting spend up to $25,000 (13,000) plus travel expenses.
Comments: "hundreds of thousands are made available for adoption." This is false, China limits the number of legal adoptions out of the country because of the intense paperwork and screening process required for each adoption, they can not keep up with the high number of families that want to adopt from China. Hundreds of thousands of babies may be abandoned but only a selected few are actually placed into the adoption process.
Most abandoned babies are from low income rural areas, because of the one child rule, a son is the only source of retirement plan a rural family has since daughters leave the family when married. However, in the city areas, the Chinese have a different attitude and have no particular preference towards having a boy or a girl. I was under the impression that almost all girls are abandoned in China but after talking to many of the local city dwellers in China I found out this not to be true, just an unfortunate practice done in the poor rural areas of the country.
More and more families in China are adopting now that the government has made this open to them which is quite wonderful. Most Chinese families will sacrifice a year or more of their annual average household salary to pay for an adoption.

NYC 2008 Workshop
Scott Robert photographya brand new look at life www.scottrobertphotography.comNYC 2008, Fabulous and FunkyThis photo represents what my workshops are all about- people working and learning together to create amazing images. Thanks to Laura pictured above and all the models who sacrificed a couple days to be with us. I saw Bandele working with her on this amazing moving van and I couldn't resist. Thanks B for the inspiration! Thanks for providing the magazine Laura is sitting on too! hahaha.I'd love to put a slideshow together of all the great images but I'm not sure if I have the time to do it! So these smattering of images will have to do for now. All of us at this workshop had such a great time, I so wish I was back in NYC but life moves on.I unleashed my new posing lecture which was a big hit, also be sure to look at the work of all the students too, I know they also have some amazing stuff! I've been concentrating on my post processing a little more lately, that is why it is taking longer for my blog entries, I have been enjoying creating images with a fine art feel lately. I always like pushing the limits and expanding my craft. I don't post process all my images this way, just certain ones that work.
Special thanks to all the models and to Liz who held the workshop together! Also to May, Anita, Chris, Peter, Daniel and Sherry who were the locals who showed us around their great town and kept us from getting lost on the subway!!
Thanks to everyone who came from all over the country and from the UK!

This would make a great postcard I think! Anita was hot!
Anita's hubby Keith!
Laura should come to Paris with us, she's got the look already!
I love the tone of this image! Thanks Jeanette!
Sherry just loves to dazzle us!!It looks like no one was here but actually there were thousands, I just caught a great time to take a pic! I had this shot in my mind ever since I decided on having an NYC workshop! Thanks May for completing my vision. This will go up in the UK Gallery Exhibit during our workshop there!
Going for a high fashion look, Allison made it easy for us! Just love the "Sex Appeal" in the BG.
Liz and my wife Stacey directed this photo and Stacey took the picture, I'm so proud of her!! I just love the multi cultural/socio make up of our workshops, so refreshing! I have so much fun with these people!I never knew Sherry was on her college swim team for four years!
The dynamic duo heating it up!Christian looking good!
Photographers Ted and Teresa are too hot! Stacey and I only wish we could look so stylish!! Mad props to Christina who set this up!! I came in and stole the glory!! I had people stealing my shots all day so it was pay back time!!!! hahahahaha. If you saw Sex in the City, this is the spot Mr. Big got pelted with flowers on his wedding day!!
I just love the Dumbo area! Thanks Daniel for showing us your secret spots!
If you look real hard you can see the Empire State Building! May and Yili are so hot together!
"Good times, good times". Sherry kept saying that and I picked it up too!
Bandele falling over on a poor helpless, homeless man and we are laughing our heads off!! Not helping of course, just taking pictures!I wanted to take a glamour shot of Abigail. It took three people to help me, Daniel holding the main light behind her, Liz holding a reflector illuminating her eyes and Richard blocking light from a nearby light fixture which reduced distracting light! Christina, Bandele and Stacey watching in the background.

Jane and Jason Tease-O-Rino
Scott Robert photographya brand new look at life www.scottrobertphotography.comJane and Jason Tease-O-RinoI have so many great shots of this wedding it is ridiculous, get ready for a fabulous slideshow!!! Jane and Jason- gotta love you guys!!!I'm off to NYC tomorrow for another amazing workshop. I can't wait to meet everyone. I am nowhere near ready to go, I have so much to pack and I need to finish off the final touches on my new and ground breaking lecture on posing.Teaching does help me to become better because it forces me to systematically put into simple terms what I do and I often come up with techniques that are extremely helpful/efficient and make me a better photographer!!Enjoy the tease.

Rita and Andrew in San Francisco!
Scott Robert photographya brand new look at life www.scottrobertphotography.comRita and Andrew in San FranciscoRita and AndrewAnother great session in the beautiful city of San Francisco! Engagement sessions are nice because this is the time that I really get to know my clients and they get to know me so when wedding day rolls around everyone is comfortable and relaxed when it comes to taking pictures and they are use to the way I work with my clients, etc. This session had more of a "fine art" feel and it took me a bit longer for me to process but I liked how many of the images came out. I also created a new larger format for the slideshow so you can see the images a bit bigger. Since my slideshows are not embedded in my blog, I can create them at a larger size. I hope you like the new format. My schedule is pretty ridiculous right now but I have a ton of images to post- the last day of the Caribbean cruise, some amazing weddings (four), engagement sessions in San Diego and in Disneyland, a Jeremy Camp concert, workshop images, etc. Please hang in there with me and I will get to everything! If my blogs are infrequent, it is not that I am not busy but I am too busy! I have so much I want to share with everyone but no time to do it! I can't wait to show you more wonderful images of all my clients and what I have been up to!Btw, hasn't the California weather been so unpredictable, raining one day, smokin hot the next??If you would like to see snipets of my daily life and view what recent photos I have taken on my iPhone please see my mobile uploads into my Facebook album
