This photo represents what my workshops are all about- people working and learning together to create amazing images. Thanks to Laura pictured above and all the models who sacrificed a couple days to be with us. I saw Bandele working with her on this amazing moving van and I couldn't resist. Thanks B for the inspiration! Thanks for providing the magazine Laura is sitting on too! hahaha.

I'd love to put a slideshow together of all the great images but I'm not sure if I have the time to do it! So these smattering of images will have to do for now. All of us at this workshop had such a great time, I so wish I was back in NYC but life moves on.

I unleashed my new posing lecture which was a big hit, also be sure to look at the work of all the students too, I know they also have some amazing stuff! I've been concentrating on my post processing a little more lately, that is why it is taking longer for my blog entries, I have been enjoying creating images with a fine art feel lately. I always like pushing the limits and expanding my craft. I don't post process all my images this way, just certain ones that work.

Special thanks to all the models and to Liz who held the workshop together! Also to May, Anita, Chris, Peter, Daniel and Sherry who were the locals who showed us around their great town and kept us from getting lost on the subway!!

Thanks to everyone who came from all over the country and from the UK!

Liz, Harvey, Lynn Kai, Cindy, Christina, Stephen from Northern CA

    Gayle from Central CA

Ted and Teresa from Austin, TX

    Abigail from South Dakota

    Rebecca from Wisconsin

    Bandele from the UK

    Scott T from Kansas

Daniel, Chris and Peter from NYC

    Everyone is on Facebook too!

    Enjoy the images...

Laura should come to Paris with us, she's got the look already!

    JeanetteIMG_7025-Edit.jpg

I love the tone of this image! Thanks Jeanette!

groupIMG_7031-Edit.jpg Sherry just loves to dazzle us!!

    MayIMG_7522-Edit.jpg

It looks like no one was here but actually there were thousands, I just caught a great time to take a pic! I had this shot in my mind ever since I decided on having an NYC workshop! Thanks May for completing my vision. This will go up in the UK Gallery Exhibit during our workshop there!

    AllisonIMG_7124-Edit-Edit.jpg

Going for a high fashion look, Allison made it easy for us! Just love the "Sex Appeal" in the BG.

NYC2008_IMG_8027-Edit.jpg Liz and my wife Stacey directed this photo and Stacey took the picture, I'm so proud of her!! I just love the multi cultural/socio make up of our workshops, so refreshing! I have so much fun with these people!

    SherryIMG_7663-Edit.jpg

I never knew Sherry was on her college swim team for four years!

ChristinaBIMG_7911-Edit.jpg The dynamic duo heating it up!

    ChristianIMG_7732-Edit.jpg

    Christian looking good!

TedTeresaIMG_7928-Edit.jpg Photographers Ted and Teresa are too hot! Stacey and I only wish we could look so stylish!! Mad props to Christina who set this up!! I came in and stole the glory!! I had people stealing my shots all day so it was pay back time!!!! hahahahaha.

    MayIMG_7490-1-Edit.jpg

If you saw Sex in the City, this is the spot Mr. Big got pelted with flowers on his wedding day!!

    AnitaIMG_6999-Edit.jpg

I just love the Dumbo area! Thanks Daniel for showing us your secret spots!

    MayIMG_6863-Edit.jpg

If you look real hard you can see the Empire State Building! May and Yili are so hot together!

groupIMG_7361-1-Edit.jpg "Good times, good times". Sherry kept saying that and I picked it up too!

ChristinaIMG_8008-Edit.jpg Bandele falling over on a poor helpless, homeless man and we are laughing our heads off!! Not helping of course, just taking pictures!

    Abby_20080607_ABV_31108-Edi.jpg

I wanted to take a glamour shot of Abigail. It took three people to help me, Daniel holding the main light behind her, Liz holding a reflector illuminating her eyes and Richard blocking light from a nearby light fixture which reduced distracting light! Christina, Bandele and Stacey watching in the background.

The SR force is heading in a new direction, I can hardly keep up! You continually suprise and inspire with your relentless pursuit of excellence and perfection.  NYC was simply amazing and the new posing lecture a stroke of genius! I learned so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now it's time for sleep! Lol!

  • all the photos are awesome !!!

  • Beautiful, every shot is just beautiful! NYC what a trip. Thanks again for your unending passion for photography and teaching. I always come away from your workshops inspired.

  • These pictures are striking. The one where the woman is lying down on the street is out of this world.

@h1t5uj1 - Thanks for the recommendation.

  • awesome shots! looks like your pictures are evolving to be more like art pieces! man... I need to save money to go to an overseas workshop!

  • These are all just beautifully done. Its always fun to go out and work with models and fire up all those juices and brain cells and just have fun and create.

  • Looks like it was an awesome time - great images, love the last one of Abigail, reminds me of the 1940's b/w.  Scott, were you watching the Lakers?  You made them lose again...

  • These are incredible!  I have said it before...I always have high expectations of your work, but you always seem to exceed those expectations.  I wish I could have been there with you all.

  • Thanks for kicking this up a notch once again, Scott! Your new posing lecture was revolutionary and well worth the trip to NYC by itself. The imagery is an incredible added bonus! This trip was AWESOME!

  • Man, your images just keep getting better and better...I didn't that was possible!

  • sorry for my language - but holy effen cow sick arse images SCOOOOOOOOTT! that pic of May lying in the middle of Time Square is so sick, It needs to be a poster!. That is an award winning shot! It is so SOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome. Sherry, Anita, all the ladies are so friggin Hubba HUbba Hot stuff!!!!!! Not to mention the team of photographers that went .... so many hot good looking people gathered in one love for photos! I drool for you all!

  • That was an awesome trip SR! I love how with each workshop we as your students get to keep evolving with you as well; you've really been such an inspiration. Btw, I posed that picture of Ted and Teresa!! I am more than happy to give you that shot, especially after all that you've taught me sensei! I feel privileged that you wanted to steal it-I got the idea from looking at a hair advertisement with two women and thought I'd try it with the good looking couple! PS. Sherry doesn't swim for nyu-wrong school! I can't wait for the UK!!:)

  • @tdaddie - poor lakers, just not as athletic as Celtics. We need Bynum on D and another guy who can break down a tough defense, they just triple team Kobe and and no one else can finish. Where is JamesWorthy???

  • @CfelicityC - oops!! what the heck school does Sherry go to??? Nice pose that you pulled out of Mag, but do you now know why it works??? sorry for the quiz, just checking to see if you were listening to my lecture, sometimes the brightest students daze off into la, la land cuz they're too good! hahahaa.

  • Amazing work Scott!!! NYC workshop had amazing people. Your posing lecture was EXTREMELY helpful!! I just loved everything about it!! Thanks for being such a great inspiration. Now that you're moving to the "dark side", there's just so much more to learn!!

  • ohhh me gosh!!! Such awesome pictures!!! I'm drooling over all of them right now!! hhehe

  • Also, I see you're quite popular with the weddingbee bloggers! :D

  • @julie_ng - I'm happy to be popular with ANYone!!! Thanks for dropping by.

  • awesome! i was very curious to see your take on NYC. love love the picture on the subway grate in Time Square.

this is a total tease. i'm so bummed i missed you guys this time around!

  • The photos are all just so beautiful.  I was immediately struck by the very first one - the lady has amazing eyes!  Then as I moved on, ALL the others were spectacular as well!  God has certainly gifted you!

  • Scott, these are insane. It looks like you guys had such an amazing time. I wish I could have been there to hang out with my homies. The post processing is crazy- #7... how did you get that coloring. It is amazing. xo

  • WOW!! Thanks for the awesome experience!! Our youngest keeps wanting me to show her our pictures from your blog.

  • Scott, I'm constantly amazed at how you outdo yourself again and again.  Just when I think nothing could be better, I'm blown away!

    Abigail

  • the one of may on the street is too freakin cool, that's all i have to say...

  • i love the picture of the woman lying on the grates in nyc, but damn, it must have been so dirty! hahahaa! poor girl must have had to take a thorough shower afterwards! beautiful picture though!!! was the dress dirtied in the process?!

  • @j_e_n -

oddly enough the dress did not get that dirty. When May got up, we just brushed the dirt off. She wore the dress the next day too and it looked great. It was a trash the dress session so we could get more agressive images!

  • Hi Scott,

Beautiful images, I love all the colour.

    Christine
