Panasonic FX-37
freakishly small, super wide digicam, does the job...
I am always searching for the perfect digicam. I don't think it exists yet but one day it will. I like super small cameras that I can fit in my pant pocket. If a camera is too big, many times I will not even bother to bring it because of size. If I have a super small camera, I end up taking it everywhere. And that is the point of photography- taking pictures. The more you do it, the better!
What I look for in a small digicam and why I like this camera...
1. Quality of image. This uses a Leica lens and is fast at F2.8 at widest angle. The color rendition is very good but because this uses a small sensor size, the noise is high unlike the Fuji digicams. Heck a Fuji Fd50 is only $200 and the quality of image is equivalent to a $500 digicam so why did I buy this one???
2. Super wide angle lens!!! This is a 25mm lens. One of the few small cameras that shoots this wide. When I travel, I find that super wide angle photos look the best. This is a huge plus for me because a superwide lens suits my shooting style, especially when I travel.
3. 720p movie mode. Super high res movies!
4. Build quality. Sturdy little camera.
5. Image stabalization, need this for low light shots with no flash.
6. Subjects are not intimidated by small camera and ignore you!
I was a little concerned about the image noise but I think it does an adequate job.

You keep making me spend money. Stop.
waoh, nice that first photo is great esp with that couple to the right. makes the photo interesting =) is that with that little pocket cam? great stuff. i was thinking of getting this cam you posted
hey i like how you can click to a new gallery on your site? is that from lightroom? thats pretty sweet
These little cameras are amazing and the quality is perfect for grabbing fast shots and like you said people dont get intimidated with a small point and shoot. I love any camera with a Leica lens and a 2.8 wide opening. These shots look as good as if you were shooting with a Canon MarkIII.
But hey, you could shoot great stuff with a Kodak disposable camera and make the photos look great!

LOL..you sold me on it!
Very nice images Scott
now that is wide!
Hey busy man, those are some INCREDIBLE point and shoot pix. I never would have considered Panasonic until I saw these!
I still prefer the Fuji digicam.
Hi Scott, how do you like your F50? I think the Fuji F100fd has 28mm (not 25 but it's something). I loved my F30 but it got soaked in the rain and was never the same.
A couple of my friends are looking forward to the LX3. 24-60 f/2-2.8 or some ridiculous lens like that!
Hey Scott,
Finally looked through your images. Awesome photos there. What's with the vignetting, is it that bad at 25mm??
Still it's way better than the Panasonic cameras of a few years ago!
