At that time, I was just getting my photography career off the ground. I didn't even have a blog or know what one was, I wasn't published in any magazines and my portrait skills were just starting to come around. That was the last time I photographed her- other than Penelope and Steelo's wedding. In fact if you go back to my first blog entries, I used Anjelah's photos to demonstrate photography techniques! During the years, we saw each other and keep in contact from time to time and I'm glad she recently asked me to take some pictures of her.   I guess we've both grown personally and in our careers since then. Of course her career is a lot more impressive than mine! I'm so proud of Anjelah because now she's becoming this HUGE star, you've most likely seen her You Tube video about a nail salon. This video on Google alone has been played almost 6 MILLION times. She has this national tour going and will be a new star on MADtv.  Her career is just starting to take off and I'm so blessed an honored to use my God given talent to help her in a small way. She wanted some fresh images for her website.     It is not hard to see why she is so successful- she's such a wonderful person, intelligent, personable, passionate about life, extremely talented and HOT!! I guess she's what you call the "complete package".   The best thing about our session was at lunch when we had a chance to get to know each other on a deeper level and share our life stories and how God has worked in mighty ways in our lives.  I could relate with her story in how she had to reach bottom before she could grasp a clear perspective on what she needed to do, be and have faith in. If you go to her myspace you can read about how she turned her life around. Now she measures success according to her relationship with Jesus and for that I know she will have one blessed and fulfilled life.   Not only do we share the same faith but I am so glad she is a huge Oakland Raider and Earth, Wind and Fire fan! I've never met a person with those SAME TWO PASSIONS! That is hard to believe because I am 20 years older than her and that band was huge when she was the ripe age of one and I was in college!! I guess that is how it is with most of my clients- I was in my prime when they were still in diapers!! A shout out to Preston too who helped with artistic direction and made sure Anjelah looked good all the time!   The Fip Side:   I shot this session with NO studio lights or off camera flash- just natural light. I found some cool places to shoot in the parking lot we parked in. For additional lighting we used her car headlights for some side and backlight when she was against the red wall.   Near the end of our session we photographed at the world famous Salon Sesson's Studio in Pasadena- as seen in The Next Top Model show with Tyra Banks. Many thanks to Neeko who gave us lemonade and allowed me to shoot anywhere we wanted to, including the white backdrop custom made for the TV show!! I still did not use any studio lights, just the available light around the salon and window light.   Come to a 4 day in Paris or Missouri and I'll show you how to do this!!     What's In theWorks....
